Oh, the joy of dating online. As if mastering your body language for in person encounters wasn’t enough, now you have to worry about your penmanship. When dating online, you can’t avoid the written word. Not only does your online profile have to be up to snuff, but so do your messages. Don’t write another message until you read this.
So there you are browsing through the online profiles of women who live in your area. There isn’t just one cute one, you think to yourself. There are many and you don’t have all day either. You know that if you just send the one message out to the cute girl, chances are you may not hear back. She may have just logged off, she may have read then deleted the message, or even worst she’s read it, but you’re not hearing back from her. This keeps you on idle, but you want to know if you should put your attention into that particular cute one or just move on to the next. Does any of this sound familiar?
You’re obviously not too keen on sending her a second message without hearing back from her just to check if she knows you exist. So what do you do to get her attention this second? She may write you back the next day, but again, you’re on the computer now.
This is how you get her attention. You want to read her profile. Yes, READ her profile. Sounds like a no-brainer, right? There is nothing worst than a guy sending a message to a women that has a decent-sized profile where you haven’t even bothered to read her profile. She is thinking that if you didn’t even bother giving her the 1-minute it takes to read her profile then why should she bother with you. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Okay, so say you’ve actually read her profile. Ya, but does she KNOW you’ve read her profile? There’s no sense in reading a profile and not letting the person know you’ve spent time reading it. Obviously, you’re not just going to message her and tell her that you spent time reading her profile, so the least she can do is read yours. You’ve got to be much more savvy.
So, what should you say then? Simple. Find the points in her profile that stood out for you. Maybe she has a unique hobby she mentioned, or she looks like she traveled somewhere interesting from her photos, or she talks about her passions. You then compliment her on whatever it is and ask her more questions around that. I’m not talking just complimenting her on her looks either.
And you do this for every-single-women.
Yes, you read the profile and craft a unique message just for her.
You don’t copy and paste the same message over and over again. You don’t just say “Hello” or “Wanna chat?” You don’t lie and say you’ve read her profile when it’s obvious you didn’t. Trust me, if you tell her you liked what she had to say in her profile then ask her out for coffee, you better make sure she likes coffee. (I had that I’ve never had coffee in my life, and received not just one, but two messages asking me out for coffee! Not only that, they said they liked what I wrote in my profile! You can bet they never heard back from me…Actually, they did, I pointed it out to them!).
Sure, you can fool a few women here or there with a copy-and-paste message and you may get a good conversation going from it. Believe me, it won’t be worth looking stupid over when the smarter ones smell your antics. You will be left embarrassed and not only that, you may have just let the one you really wanted get away.
Increase your chances of having your messages returned by reading and responding in a caring way. Knowing this is practically a guarantee you will be chatting it up with more women, and that real cute one, in no time. Now there’s some real dating online advice you can use!
